What are the IK rating standards for indoor lighting?

The IK level refers to the impact protection level of the equipment shell. Usually IK and IP protection requirements appear together. For outdoor electronic equipment, whether it is overhead, buried or placed outdoors, there are corresponding IP and IK requirements. The IK level is determined by the impact force of the free fall of the pendulum (unit is Joule). The specific reference standard is the protection level (IK code) of the electrical equipment enclosure against external mechanical impact.

Application of IK codes Generally speaking, the degree of protection applies to the overall enclosure. If some parts of the enclosure have different protection levels, the corresponding protection levels should be marked. If the relevant product committee decides to require marking of an IK code, the marking requirements should be specified in the relevant product standard. The product standard should also specify the marking method that should be used when:

1. The protection levels of each component in the same shell are different;

2. The installation status will affect the protection level of the shell.

The IK level is an internationally accepted numerical code used to indicate the protection level of an electrical equipment enclosure against external mechanical impact. According to the IEC 62262:2002 and IEC 60068-2-75:1997 standards, it is the level of protection of an electrical equipment enclosure when it is subject to external impact. Ability to protect internal equipment.

IK00 - not protected

IK01 - Withstand 0.14J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.25KG object falling on the surface from a height of 56mm)

IK02 - Withstand 0.2J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.25KG object falling on the surface from a height of 80mm)

IK03 - Withstand 0.35J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.2KG object falling on the surface from a height of 140mm)

IK04 - Withstand 0.5J impact (equivalent to the impact of a 0.25KG object falling on the surface from a height of 200mm)

IK05 - Withstand 0.7J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.25KG object falling on the surface from a height of 280mm)

IK06 - Withstand 1J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.25KG object falling on the surface from a height of 400mm)

IK07 - Withstand 2J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 0.5KG object falling on the surface from a height of 400mm)

IK08 - Withstand 5J impact force (equivalent to the impact of a 1.7KG object falling on the surface from a height of 300mm)

IK09 - Withstand 10J impact (equivalent to the impact of a 5KG object falling on the surface from a height of 200mm)

IK10 - Withstand 20J impact (equivalent to the impact of a 5KG object falling on the surface from a height of 400mm)
